Iwata: " The DS will feature a new feel of gameplay and completely new movements "
Now, when Iwata said something .. you should take it VERY very seriously as you will find in a minute.
4 years ago,2000, Nintendo registred a new trade mark. She re-registred it last year's August and this February they will finally updated all the information about the trade mark.
Now for the details: -- this on thesis that the game system we are talking about it is, the DS....
1. The DS controld layout will be L&R shoulder buttons, A,B, D-PAD, Select and Start button.
2. It will include 3 more "buttons" X,Y,Z which are actually sensors axis (x,y..like on math?)
3. The use of the X-Y-Z:
The use: to input and output "vibration" ,movement and more(?)
X sensor: input or output its movement in the sides of the machine
Y sensor: input or output movement iin the top and bottom of the system
Z sensor: will effect on the movement of the face(I mean where the screens and the buttons) of the system. - infront and in the back of it.
Now - for the real stuff - screens and explanations :
0.1 - In this picture I are able to see a cabbage and a knife. The movement of the system will effect on the knife act while the knife act will effect the movement of the system as-well. As you can see:
a - The player pulling the system to the right side and
b - the B button pressed and
c - The system uses Z sensor to make the system act like the knife and shake the system upside-down .. with the sound of the knife .. it probably really feal's like you got it, in your hands.
0.2 We are in the kitchen, and now we dealing with .. well, cooking an egg.
- the use of the sensors: As like as you will move the system the egg will rotat in the same direction the system evacuated to. More movement - the egg will be ready faster and the cooking will be more effective
0.3 Tortoise. Controled by the computre, and you will need to use the system to make him jump from platform to platform. the jump and the landing will be effect will caused by sound effects and uses of the X,Y,Z sensors movement I believe.
While it still unclear if Nintendo will use the patent they had registered on the DS, but it very very possible they will. Still:
It's pretty obvious but I want to make it clear, the drawing are just to show the idea - the DS is not likely to look similar to the Gameboy
